Cabinetry Built Around the Room

Designed for a Manhattan residence, this custom kitchen brings together integrated appliances, tailored cabinetry, and a large central work surface within a clean architectural composition.

The cabinetry was developed around the major appliances to create a cohesive built-in appearance rather than a collection of separate elements. A stainless-steel refrigerator and dedicated wine storage are framed by paneled cabinetry, while the darker cooking area creates contrast against the lighter surrounding finishes.

At the center of the room, an expansive white island provides preparation space, an integrated sink, and a practical gathering point while keeping the overall layout open and visually balanced.

Cabinetry & Material Details

The project comes together at the points where cabinetry meets appliances, stone, lighting, and hardware. Each element is coordinated with the cabinet layout rather than treated as a separate addition.

Integrated Appliance Wall

The refrigerator and wine storage are incorporated into a full-height cabinetry composition, giving the appliance zone a more architectural and built-in appearance.

Central Kitchen Island

A generous white island creates a large uninterrupted work surface while incorporating the sink and supporting everyday preparation and gathering.

Contrasting Cooking Zone

Dark cabinetry around the range creates a defined cooking area and introduces depth against the lighter finishes used throughout the rest of the kitchen.

Custom Cabinetry

Cabinet proportions and surrounding panels were tailored to the room and major appliances to create a cohesive installation with clean transitions between individual elements.

Integrated Wine Storage

Dedicated wine storage is positioned directly alongside the main refrigeration area, keeping specialized storage accessible without interrupting the overall cabinetry composition.
