A custom Manhattan wall-bed system combining a fold-down bed, full-height cabinetry, and integrated storage within a cohesive built-in composition.

Cabinetry Built Around the Room

Designed for a Manhattan interior where flexibility and storage needed to coexist within the same room, this custom built-in transforms an entire wall into a multifunctional architectural feature.

A fold-down bed is integrated directly into the cabinetry and framed by full-height storage on both sides, with additional cabinets extending across the upper portion of the composition. When the bed is closed, the installation reads as a continuous wall of custom millwork rather than a separate piece of furniture.

The light wood finish, restrained detailing, and balanced proportions keep the large storage system visually calm while allowing the room to transition easily between everyday living space and sleeping space.

Cabinetry & Material Details

The project comes together at the points where cabinetry meets appliances, stone, lighting, and hardware. Each element is coordinated with the cabinet layout rather than treated as a separate addition.

Integrated Wall Bed

The fold-down bed is built directly into the cabinetry, allowing the room to provide a full sleeping surface without permanently occupying the available floor area.

Full-Height Cabinetry

Tall storage units extend from floor to ceiling on both sides of the bed, making efficient use of the wall while giving the installation a strong architectural presence.

Overhead Storage

A continuous row of upper cabinets adds storage above the main units and visually connects the entire composition across the wall.

Light Wood Finish

The warm, light-toned wood finish keeps the large built-in feeling natural and visually balanced within the surrounding neutral interior.

Balanced Composition

The wall bed is centered within the cabinetry and framed by coordinated storage, creating a symmetrical arrangement that feels intentional whether the bed is open or closed.
